Own a Falbo Bros Pizzeria
Why Falbo Bros?
Falbo Bros. brings a different perspective to the pizza franchising industry. First of all our pizza is unique, as are our concepts. Our main focus will always be quality. We cannot emphasis this enough. Each of our current 6 locations emphasize quality first.. Falbo Bros currently has 6 locations but our goal is to expand nationwide. It is an exciting time to get in the ground floor of a unique business concept.
Don't I have to be rich to own my own franchise?
Maybe if you want to own a Dominos or Pizza Hut but not with us.. The originators of Falbo Bros. were 22 year old college students. All of our current franchisees started when they were in their early 20's.. Falbo Bros is looking for talent, not wealth.
What are the qualifications?
• You must be able to raise the starting capital (typically between $35-$110K)...
• You must have a positive, "can do, will succeed" attitude
• You must undergo Franchisee training at a Falbo Bros location. This usually takes 6 weeks to 3 months depending on the intensity...
• Partnerships or outside investors are allowed........
What are the franchise fees?
Because we are currently a smaller operation (when compared to a Papa John's) we do not have a large franchise fee. Our franchise fee is based on the actual costs incurred by Falbo Bros. Pizzeria Inc. to help you get started. Right now with legal fees, travel, etc. the cost is in the range of $4,000 to $6,000........
What are the startup costs?
Between $35,000-$110,000 depending mostly on the build out costs.. Costs run more when you have to build out a pizzeria from a space that starts empty. If you are fortunate enough to find a space that has already been built out for food service, costs are drastically decreased. Most of the initial cost incurred involves venting, electrical, and other general contracting work.... For example a typical ventilation system runs around $15,000. if you can find one that is already put in then you can save that.
What is the royalty fee?
3%, but not initially. We want you to succeed and we know that in the beginning costs are higher and sales are lower so the fee gradually increases over the first 12 months, topping out at 3%.. This fee is the lowest in the business. Unlike most franchises we do not have national advertising fund contribution (wouldn't make sense given our current size).
Where are locations available?
In all 50 states.
Do I have to work in my store?
It is not required as many franchisors may wish to own multiple stores. But a word to the wise, make your presence felt. We strongly recommend working in the store which you own. After all, it is your money passing through the business.
How much am I going to make?
The amount of profit or loss is dependent on a number of factors, including the ability of the franchisee to manage the business, drive sales volume and control operating costs. We provide the ground work and product that has been proven successful, the rest is up to you........
Does Falbo Bros help me with site selection? Equipment? Build out?
Absolutely. We will be there every step of the way to get your pizzeria started. We will help with site selection, equipment, staff training, suppliers, licenses, permits, and store design...............
Does Falbo Bros. provide ongoing support?
We are always here to help. Most franchisees are very good business people who take pride in accomplishing things on their own. However we have the experience to make sure your operation runs smoothly and if there are ever any questions to be answered feel free to ask. We will not dictate how you run your day to day operating but will provide certain guidelines to follow............
Why is every Falbo Bros. a little different?
Eventually we want every person in the US to say they have had a Falbo Bros. pizza. However our goal is to have each store be a unique. Quality and pizza style will remain consistent at each location but we encourage franchisees to be creative with their menu and add additional local flavor in addition to our standard fare. Yes we want to be a large franchise but we don't want to lose the concept of our unique style that made us popular.
Does Falbo Bros. provide financing?
Currently we do not. We will offer suggestions but you will have to bring your own money to the table.
Do I need experience?
While restaurant experience is nice, training and support is provided. Therefore no restaurant or pizzeria experience is necessary, just a positive attitude and willingness to learn and succeed.
How do I get started?
Please contact us here. Serious inquiries only.
Some final thoughts...
• Partnerships usually work better than single operators. It always helps to have the resources of two people compared to one.
• This is great opportunity for young entrepreneurs who are looking to own their own business but may not have the financial resources required for a traditional franchise.
• This really is getting in on the ground floor. As we grow, royalty fees and franchise fees will most certainly rise. You will be locked in at your original rate.
Welcome to Falbo Bros Pizzeria
Thanks for choosing Falbo Bros.! Get ready for a unique pizza experience. Before they try our pizza, people always ask us "What is your pizza like?" "Is it Chicago style? New York style?" The answer is...neither! Our pizza is unique. We have taken inspirations from New York style thin crust pizza, Chicago Style deep dish and stuffed pizza and created our own unique style.
We make all of our pizzas the old fashioned way, the crust is rolled by hand, using dough made fresh by hand every few hours. The sauce is made from scratch, fresh every day. Our philosophy on cheese and toppings is simple, we put a ton of both on every pizza...skimping is for the other guys.
We feature three kinds of pizza:
(Click on any photo for a larger view)
Thin Crust
Our thin crust pizza is rolled by hand, baked to a crispy golden brown directly on old fashioned stone deck ovens (don't even think of mentioning conveyor belts). |
|
Deep Dish
Pizza cooked in a 2 inch pan, loaded with cheese. If you are a fan of a hearty pizza with an abundance of cheese and toppings then this should be your choice. |
|
Stuffed Pizza
Although similar to an original Chicago style stuffed , our stuffed pizza has its own unique quality. Loaded with cheese and toppings, baked slowly in our special ovens and over 2 inches thick...you've never had a pizza like this before! |

Although Falbo Bros. is technically a chain each of our stores has various unique menu items, so please check each stores individual menu before ordering. Thank you again for choosing Falbo Bros. Pizzeria!
The Falbo Bros Pizzeria Story
Falbo Bros Pizzeria opened for business August 1, 1992 in Madison, Wisconsin
Two students from the University of Wisconsin, forced to eat horrible "college" pizza for 4 years decided enough was enough. Jason and Rob, the original "Falbo Brothers" decided it was time to take matters into their own hands. They had a simple philosophy: Make the best possible pizza, charge the lowest possible price.
The idea began sometime during winter break, 1992. At around 2am one early Sunday morning the Falbo Brothers were searching the phone book for a good pizza to cap off another spectacular night in Madison. As they perused the phone book one thing was blatantly obvious: There were no good pizzas in Madison. Everything was horrible. In a stroke of genius they decided to make their own, so off to the grocery store they went. About 3 hours later they had their own pizza...not the best effort, but still better than 100% of the other choices.
Ignoring all traditional business conventions (like a business plan, gaining experience, product testing, etc) the Falbo Bros. set out to raise money to open their own pizzeria. Laughed at by the banks, they managed to max out a few credit cards and hit up a few relatives and scrape up enough money to buy some equipment. They struck gold and found a gem of a location (515 University Avenue) right in the heart of campus and the bar scene. The only problem was that it was about 1/2 the size needed for a pizzeria. They managed to use every square inch of the place and got ready to open. The set a target date of August 1, 1992. On July 31st, in front of friends and family, Falbo Bros. produced it's first pizzas. The next day they opened and the rest, as they say, is history.
"When we first opened, we had no clue. Neither of us had worked in a pizzeria, or restaurant for that matter. We didn't understand anything about the pizza business, or running any business. We were two naive college students. All we knew was that we were going to make better pizza than everyone else and we were going to succeed. The first few months we sent out more than our share of bad pizzas, late pizzas, wrong pizzas, etc. But one thing was clear, people appreciated our efforts. The students at UW had our back, we were part of the student body, two hard working college kids giving it their best shot. People tend to be a little more forgiving and more apt to give a second chance to a business when they know the effort is there. After all, our only goal was to make everyone the best pizza they had ever tasted. I am forever grateful to the students at UW for giving us a chance and standing behind us. By 1993, our second year, most of the kinks were worked out and business soared. Three years later, in 1996 we had our first franchise open in Iowa City. 15 years later I still feel we make the best pizza in town...it's not even close"
